So, I needed a thread shelf to hang on my new wall storage system, and I have seen a few similar to this one floating around on the web.

However, none were exactly what I wanted. So,off to the hardware store to pick up some supplies and get started on one customized to my requirements. (Note: as of this photo I still haven’t moved all of my thread supply to the case. But I will get around to it eventually).

DIY Weathered Gray Console

Seems like the in thing right now is weathered gray furniture, and I have to admit that I am developing a fondness for it as well. I recently found a console at Restoration Hardware that I have been coveting, but it wasn’t exactly the gray color that I was hoping to find. I was looking for more of a dark driftwood tone. Plus, with a price of around $1700, I thought that this would be a good DIY project. I am sorry that I did not take photos of the whole process. However, I have created a sketch up to compensate.

Deep Drawer Utensil Organizer

Do you prefer everything to be neatly organized? Well, I do too. So, I have been on a quest to get every inch of my kitchen organized. I have very deep drawers on both sides of my cooktop, so this is the best place to store all of the cooking utensils. However, I hate shuffling around through drawers, searching for a spatula or a spoon. I needed a solution, and I knew just what I wanted – a deep drawer utensil organizer!
